Trinidad's longest beach: roughly eight miles of palm-backed Atlantic shoreline.
Mayaro Beach runs the length of Mayaro Bay, backed by the coconut estates of the Cocal. The sand is dark and iron-rich, the surf is open Atlantic, and the beach is wide enough that even a busy Easter weekend spreads out. Swimming is for strong swimmers only.
